What I learned having sex as a young woman in Pakistan

“Pakistan is an Islamic Republic with the highest porn-watching population in the world. That statement in and of itself signifies a particular aspect about Pakistani culture: we are horny and desperate for sex, but God forbid we actually engage in it. Sex in Pakistan is considered a taboo topic. Men generally aren’t judged for it in our patriarchal society but if a woman from a middle-class family or underprivileged background is caught having premarital sex, serious shit goes down.”

How porn is messing with your Manhood

guy-silhouette-parental-advisory-warning

“Finding a needle in a haystack would be easier than finding an adolescent male who hasn’t seen online porn. Surveys indicate the average boy watches roughly two hours of porn every week with porn viewing becoming common by age 15.

The most popular porn site—PornHub—reported that the average Millennial porn session lasts”

So How Long Do Most People Actually Last In Bed, Anyway? Science Has the Answer

giphy

“People have many thoughts about how long a dude should be able to last in the bedroom. Some women are like, ‘I think my boyfriend comes too soon.’ Others are like, ‘My guy takes forever, and frankly, I just want it to be over.’ Hip-hop legend Missy Elliott is like, ‘I don’t want no one-minute man.’

But how long is normal, actually?”

Genes influence the age at which you lose your virginity, study shows

cherrybomb_stockimage

“The subtle impact of genetics on the age at which people lose their virginity has been teased apart by scientists and shown to have an effect on how well people fare at school.

Though mostly driven by upbringing and peer behaviour, a person’s age when they first have sex is also shaped by biological factors where genes have a role to play.

Researchers found that differences in DNA could account for a quarter of the variation in the age at which people lost their virginity, with other factors, among them religious beliefs, family background and peer pressure, making up the rest.”

FDA expands abortion-pill access in states seeking limits

“Guidelines the Food and Drug Administration issued Wednesday could expand women’s access to an abortion-inducing pill in states that have sought to limit its use.

The new guidelines strike directly against laws passed by several states — including North Dakota, Ohio and Texas — that require doctors to adhere to 16-year-old FDA regulations. Several other states have tried to limit use of the drug, but their efforts face legal challenges around the country.

The new rules allow women to use the medication for 70 days after the start of their most recent menstrual period, up from 49 days under the previous guidelines. The agency also lowered the dosage of the medication, called mifepristone, from 600 milligrams to 200 milligrams, and made it easier for women to get a prescription for the pill.”

Tennessee To Decide If It Will Keep Criminalizing Pregnant Women For Drug Use

56def9341e000087007037b3

“In 2014, Tennessee made national news when it became the first state in the country to pass a law specifically making it a crime to use drugs while pregnant.

Several leading medical organizations opposed the legislation and cautioned that it would have a negative public health effect of scaring women away from seeking medical help. That’s exactly what happened. ”

How Gay Men Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Semen

how-gay-men-learned-how-to-stop-worrying-and-love-semen-body-image-1457135464

“It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when semen became the focus of so much erotic fixation in the gay community. Maybe it had something to do with AIDS activist Tony Valenzuela coming out on the cover of Poz magazine in 1999 as an HIV+ gay man who enjoyed condom-less sex. ‘The unprotected sex … was beautiful, intimate, satisfying. I didn’t shower afterward,’ he told the magazine. ‘We slept with his come inside me.’ Or maybe the threshold was crossed in 2004 with the release of the seminal porn flick Dawson’s 20-Load Weekend, in which a strapping, virile bottom has unprotected sex with a score of men. Or maybe it came earlier, when treatments for HIV/AIDS developed in the 90s made the disease more manageable and convinced many gay men not to think of semen as potential life-destroying poison.”

STIs, Shame, and the Sabbath: What It’s Like to Learn About Sex as an Orthodox Jew

“I first learned about sex in the bathroom of my co-ed yeshiva day school when I was eight. While we huddled around an automatic hand drier, two of my kippa-wearing, tzizit-wielding friends told me roughly what happens when a man masturbates: “You rub your dick a lot and then white stuff shoots out!” I listened in horror, unsure if they were joking. I was too scared to ask my parents or teachers and embarrassed to ask my friends to clarify; I wouldn’t hear about sex from my teachers until I was nearly 13.”

Kentucky lawmaker’s bill forces men to get note from wives before purchasing Viagra

“Tired of what she considers the government inserting itself into women’s private lives, a Kentucky lawmaker has decided to return the favor.

Rep. Mary Lou Marzian, a Louisville Democrat, has introduced a bill that would force men who want to use erectile dysfunction drugs to jump through a series of humiliating hoops beforehand, such as visiting a doctor twice and getting notes from their wives.

‘I want to protect these men from themselves,’ Marzian, who is a nurse, told the Courier-Journal.

‘This is about family values,’ she added.

Mazian told Fox affiliate WDRB that House Bill 396 would also require that someone seeking Viagra, Cialis, Levitra or Avanafil ‘make a sworn statement with his hand on a Bible that he will only use a prescription for a drug for erectile dysfunction when having sexual relations with his current spouse.'”
